ARIANE LIGNIER

Representation
Across various advocacy and engagement tools such as panels, podcasts, film, trainings and community engagements, I explore how art and bold thinking can disrupt power structures, mobilize communities, and make human rights more powerful and resonant.
Podcast
Podcasts are powerful spaces to explore ideas in longer format. Their conversational nature allows for complex ideas to be more accessible, reaching also audiences who may not usually engage in policy discussions.

Panels
Panels happen at all levels and are important spaces for open conversation, where different views meet and ideas are challenged. They can bring people from different backgrounds from artists, policymakers, and communities to question common narratives and explore new ones.

Film
Cinema and documentaries are powerful ways to tell stories that move people, challenge perspectives, and spark change. Film festivals give these stories a platform, bringing audiences, creators, and experts together to reflect, debate, and connect. To better understand the impact of movies and include it in my work, I served on the jury for the One World Documentary Festival in 2017 and attended a Summer School on 'Cinema, Human Rights and Advocacy' led by the Global Campus of Human Rights in the margin of the Venice Film Festival.
Workshops & Activities
Workshops are practical and critical to build skills, strengthen confidence, and better understand issues. These moments are not just about sharing knowledge or teaching, they create room for dialogue, reflection, and collective problem-solving. That same approach is important when engaging with communities. By working closely with people through workshops, activities and conversations, I ensure that advocacy is rooted in lived experience, builds trust, and is shaped with communities, and not simply designed on their behalf.
